On April 21, 2008, Piconics made the decision to cease in-house production of our Thin Film offerings. The division formally stopped operations on June 27, 2008.
Piconics continues to offer its line of Spiral Chip Inductors through a partnership with Ion Beam Milling, Inc. of Manchester, NH. Ion Beam Milling has been producing Thin Film products since 1982 and Piconics is confident that Ion Beam Milling can continue to produce products that meet the quality standards of our customers. Customers should continue to place orders for Spiral Inductors through their normal Piconics sales channel

NOTES:

Inductance values are measured in free air.
-
Mounting the part on a ground plane will reduce the inductance and SRF. Higher values change more.
-
If part must be mounted on a ground plane it is best to purchase part on a thicker material. Piconics can supply up to 25 mil thick on special order.

Attachment is best made with non-conductive epoxy. Using a conductive epoxy will yield the same result as mounting on a ground plane.
-
Only thermosonic wire bonding using 1 mil gold wire is recommended.

Bonding pads are .004" diameter min.
-
SRF values are measurements based on 10 mil substrates.
-
Electrical data applies only to non-gold backed chip inductors. Consult the factory for electrical data when ordering gold backed inductors.
